Samford University is a Christian university which was founded in 1841. It is the 87th oldest university in the country. The acceptance rate is 84% and the graduation rate is 76%.

Samford University does offer study abroad opportunities in 19 countries as well as two different honors programs. There is the University Fellows Program as well as the Micah Fellows Program for Christian Service and Community Engagement.

There are more than 166 student organizations on campus. Further, more than 300 courses incorporate community service into the curriculum.

97% of alumni are employed or furthering their education within six months of graduation. Alumni have served very notable roles. 60 members of Congress, eight governors, one U.S. Secretary of State, four Rhodes Scholars, two U.S. Supreme Court justices, and many recipients of the Emmy, Grammy, Pulitzer, and Nobel Peace prizes have been Samford graduates.

It has been ranked number one in the country for student engagement by the Wall Street Journal.

Samford University is located in Birmingham, Alabama. It is more than 247 acres in size and has remarkable Georgian-Colonial style architecture.
