Founded in 1870, Loyola University Chicago is a private Roman Catholic institution located in Chicago, Illinois. Loyola is known for its commitment to academic excellence and community service, and students appreciate its urban location and diverse student body. Full-time freshmen and sophomores are required to live on campus. The Loyola Ramblers compete in the NCAA Division I Missouri Valley Conference. Students can participate in more than 175 clubs and organizations, including 20 fraternities and sororities. Students who are interested in law might enroll in Loyola’s 3-3 Accelerated Admission program, in which students complete their bachelor’s degree and their juris doctorate at Loyola. Off campus, students can explore Chicago, shop, and dine one of the Miracle Mile’s outdoor cafes. Chicago offers plenty to do, ranging from classic Wrigley Field baseball games to festive parades.
