Founded in 1881, the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) is a public research institution located in Newark, New Jersey. NJIT offers top-tier STEM programs. It is home to both the largest college of engineering and the “largest technology and life sciences business incubator in the state.” Notable alumni include founder of the Society of Women Engineers Beatrice Hicks and NASA astronaut Wally Schirra, Jr.
